CUMMING COUNTRY FAIR

Be sure to come visit with us in the Indian Village during the fair on weekends of October 10th & 11th and October 17th & 18th, the Historical Society of Cumming/Forsyth County will be manning the Blackburn/Buffington Tavern which was built by mixed blood Scottish-Cherokee Chief James Vann in 1804, and the Harris Cabin built by the Cherokees circa 1820. We will be prepared to tell you the history and answer any questions you may have.

HOMETOWN HEROES and AMERICA’S 250th CEMETERY TOUR

The Historical Society of Cumming/Forsyth County is having problems receiving funds online, the cause for the delay in posting availability for tickets. We have always collaborated with Age Well Forsyth on this fundraiser for our groups, as we are this year. To make payments, with cash or check, and reserve your spot(s) on the tours October 23rd and 24th you may come by the Historical Society located at 101 School Street on October 5th and 6th, 12th and 13th, 19th and 20th between the hours of 10am – 2pm; or you may pay at the gate on Resthaven Street with cash, check, or card upon arrival. Tours 6pm, 6:15, 6:30, 6:45, 7pm, 7:15, 7:30, 7:45, 8pm, 8:15, 8:30, and 8:45 each night. $20. per person.
